I played Black Knife Dungeon with a Windows Git interpreter.
I have yet to finish the game yet, still, BKD seems to be easier on newcomers than some classic text IFs. In addition to abbreviations for actions, there are bestiary, tips and other useful mechanics.
As an rpg it seems good, but a bit unbalanced due to randomness affecting enemies. Thankfully, picking better equipment and using right attacks for creatures alleviates the randomness issue. But the game could use more of "skill+choice+random" combination, in my opinion. Moreover, a player needs to keep an eye on room type and creature look. An interesting feature is goals which need to be completed to increase level, instead of just experience. But these games mostly attract the patient, right?
The text is interesting, but for now there is not much content for gameplay outside a dungeon. There is some level of immersion, too. Tavern visitors can share a tip on adventuring, or point to a quest. But the town is not very populated. Overall, it is a well-functioning game, but a bit straightforward.
