Dreams of the Sky

I wake each day to a blinding darkness, where food is delivered by monsters that defy the senses. The tunnels are filled with elusive creatures whose screams and moans haunt me, and my only company is The Rat. Only, today is important. The Rat insists. For today is the day that I break free of all that is black and blinding, and taste the cool and damp freedom that leaks from the crack in the stone. The sky awaits, but only if I am brave enough to reach for it.
