I'm blind, in my mid 20s, and have been playing interactive fiction since the age of 8.
I was introduced to parser IF via the BrailleNote,—an accessible Braille note taker and PDA popular in the 2000s—which came bundled with the Jzip interpreter, 9 games, and a link to the IF Archive. In my teens, now without a BrailleNote and no known ways to play parser IF on the PC with my preferred screen reading software, a chance click on a link in a chat lead me to choice-based IF, and I was hooked again in a whole new way.
Now in my 20s, with access to many interpreters again and more web accessibility awareness than ever, I don't play as much as I once used to, nor have I played everything I want to. My enjoyment of IF and my passion for the art form are still as strong as ever. I even started writing my own games in my teens, although none are as yet completed. Someday.
