I just started dabbling in playing IF a few months ago after playing Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, then in a fit of interest in similar challenges, stumbled upon a site called Parchment, which (in a series of desperate Googlings for hints) led me to discover a lot of other pretty cool IF stuff.
