I've always been drawn to how we tell stories to one another. That goes for stories in games, sports, news, essays, whatever. Narrative-driven games, games with interesting stories to tell, or games with unique and interesting experiences have therefore always resonated with me.

The most formative gaming of my youth started with point-and-click adventure games, most notably, The Secret of Monkey Island. And then a few years later, Myst, at the dawn of its popularity. Those games really spoke to me, and they were huge influences into the gamer I became.

For whatever reason(s), up until very recently, IF had never truly captured my gaming attention. But in reality, I was never really too far removed from it. Having now come around to IF, I have found it a natural fit for my tastes as a gamer. Quelle surprise.

While I certainly enjoy good puzzles in games, I think I still mostly resonate with games that have good stories and narratives. I like the kinds of experiences that can look at and explore the human condition. Fiction, sci-fi, drama, and comedy I think are the genres I mostly gravitate to.
