I once solved a puzzle for a million dollars. And here I thought sentences like that were reserved for fictional literature.
Other than Adventure, naturally, Andrew Plotkin's Praser 5 maze was a huge inspiration for me back when I was first discovering the wide and wonderful world of all things puzzle. I've yet to feel satisfied combing through work of the greats: Graham Nelson, Nick Montfort, Adam Cadre, Jon Ingold, Emily Short ... and one of these days I'll get through So Far. I will admit a disproportionate fondness for other modular experiments akin to Praser 5, e.g. Ad Verbum, but good historical fiction just can't be beat.
