Slap That fish is one of those games you always wanted to write: RPG characteristics, good storyline, and hey! You get to beat stuff up! Sadly, Slap That fish seems to be half the game it wants to be, with semi-developed storyline and not-so randomised combat (except for the parrana). I wanted, and expected more from this game. Like I said, it's got a good premmice, but doesn't fully deliver. I do have to say adding puzzle-solving to the game was a risky move, but it kinda works.
In this game you play the classic game "Return to Zork", but not exactly. If you're unable to play Infocom's Return to ZORK, this is almost as good. The background story is in the slightly extensive documentation.
In fact, I actually liked this game more than the original Infocom one.
The game comes with background documentation, probably just to keep the Infocom feel alive. I _TOTALLY recommend this game, but not for beginners.
Well, I was searching the archive, looking through the entries for the if comps, and come across this one. You can find out details of the game. Click on this link. An Act of Murder
I seriously recommend this game for hard core if players. The randomness and amazing storyline make this a good find for those who want a game with good replay value and a challenge.
