The year is 1860. The place is Bearbrass, Australia: a sprawling metropolis of tin, steel, brick, stone and brass.

Queen Victoria is visiting Bearbrass for Australia's own Great Exhibition. All the sharpest minds of the colony have worked day and night to perfect their devices and displays.

An infamous rebel named Emmeline Muchamore has declared her intention to gain independence for the state of Victoria.

Editorial Reviews

The Breakfast Review
The characters as described in their bios are attractive to players, being so distinct that you just want to see what the world looks like from their different vantage points. But I think all this potential will need to be developed a lot further. If this were Introcomp, it would be right up there at the top of my list of games I want to see finished.

A quick Twine game about magical metals and Queen Victoria , May 10, 2017

This author has written several very good games in the past, but I feel that this one doesn't live up to their reputation.

You pick to be one of several magic using Australians in the 1800s during a heist. The game is very similar in style to choicescript, and overall feels like an opening chapter from a choicescript game.

I think overall, this game and another game from this comp (the Eight Characters game) spent a great deal of time on front loaded back story, which involves a lot of reading that does not translate into gameplay. This isn't bad in itself, but the rest of both of these games focus on quick-action gameplay, so it conflicts with the earlier play style.

heavy metal steampunk, October 25, 2016

Using creative commons for illustrations is always hard, not only do you have to find pictures that happen to fit your story, they have to work with each other as well, and that's all but impossible.

It is set in the same steampunk universe as other Felicity stories and as a steampunk romp, it's highly entertaining. I am especially a fan of the magic-system based around metal which is very in-keeping with the steampunky theme.
